Being the Beacon iampeacemaker, July 14, 2023August 9, 2023 As a lighthouse gives hope to a weary sailor lost on uncertain seas, so the people of God should be beacons of light, hope, healing, and forgiveness to a people frightened and alone! In the name of Love and Light, LORD and Christ. The final book of the Bible, Revelations, said the last days would be especially difficult for those who stayed loyal to the teachings of Christ. Does that mean we should stop forgiving our oppressors, ministering to the hurting, and shining hope that there is a better world to come home to after trials, certain to keep on coming? Shouldn’t we still encourage those who need encouragement, and continue to help the jobless, widows, and fatherless children? Love of Money is the beast that oppresses the poor! If people believed in the power of Love, and all people gave the 10% of their MEANS to the works of Love and hope, we could considerably improve the quality of life for many millions of people. 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[c] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[d] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6 The early books of the Old Testament taught much of the importance of caring for the poor, widows, and the fatherless. Remember this… the rule is to give with a solemn heart of repentance. 13 Another thing you do: You flood the LORD’s altar with tears. You weep and wail because he no longer looks with favor on your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands. 14 You ask, “Why?” It is because the LORD is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant. 15 Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth. 16 “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful. Breaking Covenant Through Injustice17 You have wearied the LORD with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying, “All who do evil are good in the eyes of God, and he is pleased with them,” or “Where is the God of justice?” 1 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD. 2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then Yahweh will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years. 5 “So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers, and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the LORD. Malachi 2,3 On being Beacons of faith, hope, love, and Light. It’s a matter of living the good life, even when life gets hard. Shining beams of positivity and hope to others who are also suffering. Encourage others when you have hope, don’t keep it to yourself. Feeling positive about life is a gift, especially when life is hard. Remember that there is a time for all things to come to pass, and they do just that, pass. Nothing is permanent when you appreciate life in each moment. The past is only memory, let it go. The future is something you can later let go after it comes to pass. So there is no need for fear or worry. Living in a mindfully patient state of welcoming new situations with an expectance of adventure and plan to continue working towards reaching your goals is a POWERFUL state of mind. Generating light from darkness, revealing what is hidden, is a way of helping others to not make the same mistakes you made. Mistakes are part of the human experience. Holding anger against yourself or others is like poisoning yourself, it doesn’t hurt your oppressors, it’s what they want. So, share with them your hope and shed light in dark places. Life is a grand adventure so may as well learn and make it even better for others, just by existing even. Peace. No fear about what is to come. Mindfulness. Keeping an open mind and not forcing it on others. Patience. No worries about when it comes. I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident HOPE through the power of the Holy Spirit! – Romans 15:13 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! – Galatians 5:33 Three things will last forever – Faith, Hope, and Love – and the greatest of these is Love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13 If you wouldn’t follow yourself, why would anyone else follow you? Encourage yourself, and be the example you need. “Peace Maker” is my Indigenous Spirit name, my other Spirit name is Elainia, which means, “Land of Light”.
