How Canada is successful with human rights and freedoms iampeacemaker, June 28, 2023August 9, 2023 Canada does it as right as possible. We have a secular government that cares about the people’s welfare and protects the human rights to CHOOSE their lifestyles and religions. Canada does so without suppressing individual voices except when people are being sorely oppressed. Law and order are the main purpose of parliament, partnered with secular authorities who are honor bound to protect citizen rights and freedoms. They enforce justice in as humane a way as possible. Enforcing justice includes assisting those in poverty to get medical treatment, addiction treatment, medications, food, and shelter, with the support of our provincial and federal tax-funded initiatives. Paying our taxes and taking part in our communities are patriotic things to do. We help Canada shine as a beacon of hope in our global communities. Troubled History in Our Own Back Yard. All of us need to uphold our Indigenous brothers and sisters who are still being challenged to recover the languages and customs that were beaten out of them by the sins of our colonial founders and colonial religious organizations, like the priests and nuns who claimed to be moral authorities, forcibly breaking up families, cutting their hair, beating children when they spoke their native languages, and as has recently been proven, were guilty of worse sins and murders against these children on a massive scale, finding mass graves of children in residential schools. My heart cries for these families and survivors, who are slowly, with the support of their communities, making efforts to heal. It’s unfairly hard. Many of those who survived don’t even know who their families were or where they came from. These people, our neighbors, whose ancestors welcomed us into their land, peacefully and supportively. The Inuit and their caribou herds that they rely on for food and clothing live in a very fragile habitat that is being damaged by the traffic of large trucks that mining entails, new roads, and even threats of new hydro dams that would flood valuable grazing land. Reducing uranium and even gold mining that is currently being forced upon them IS an option. The people have been fighting hard against their treaty land being taken from them and misused. I believe the government has the ability to look at this situation objectively and start taking the side of Indigenous people. One People. Many Cultures. What I love about this time in history is that Canada has been starting to step forward to reverse the injustices of the past. We still have further yet to go but pride ourselves in our cherished values of diversity and neighborly love. Canadians are proud of our differences. We are not our mistakes. We include the voices of our Indigenous and Inuit people in our daily discussions. Our prime minister Justin Trudeau is a leader speaking out against the sorrows of our past and today. We are open to improving ourselves not in spite of, but because of the hard lessons from the mistakes we’ve made. I think we need to go further than that though. Considering how the unchanging laws of attraction work it is not enough to be anti-oppression or anti-war. Instead, we need to attract peace by working FOR it. By making peace our GOAL. Be A Peace Maker Where You Stand. You can’t keep the peace where there is none. Considering how far news travels on the internet and on international television, making peace on the world stage is more important now than ever to make peace in our own backyard. We need to practice what we preach, everywhere we go. We are peace makers. We must thoroughly believe that. We care about the health and comfort of our neighbors, local and global, supporting each other, throughout the community and from within government. We live here, work here, pay our taxes, and we don’t begrudge those who need social services. Our government, run by our voted-in citizens, we are respected for our global leadership in human rights and freedoms. Canada is a beacon of love on the world stage, encouraging diversity, educating girls with boys, respecting women and minorities, and championing peace. These affirmations will help it come true, if you disagree, you are hampering our efforts. Optimism is key, believing in our abilities to achieve success is absolutely necessary. Believe in our government because this IS a good country to live in. Peace comes from within. Only then can will we be that beacon of hope that we believe we are. If you wouldn’t follow yourself, why would anyone else follow you? Be The Example You Need. “Peace Maker” is my Indigenous Spirit name, my other Spirit name is Elainia, which means, “Land of Light”. I am a Canadian, a friend of God, an empathic woman with a timeless soul, driven to create more peaceful lives for those I meet through patience and understanding. It feels really good to say, “I AM Peace Making”. I encourage you to claim that. Positive affirmations are good for the soul. Then together we have the faith to move mountains!
